ROBERT V. FULLERTON ART MUSEUM SIGNS ON FOR SMITHSONIAN MAGAZINE’S MUSEUM DAY 2008
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - Some things in life are free. On Saturday, Sept. 27, the Robert V. Fullerton Art Museum at Cal State San Bernardino will participate for the first time in the fourth annual Museum Day, presented by Smithsonian magazine.
Museum Day is a day when museums and cultural institutions nationwide open their doors free of charge to Smithsonian magazine readers and Smithsonian.com visitors. A celebration of culture, learning and the dissemination of knowledge, Smithsonian’s Museum Day reflects the spirit of the magazine, and emulates the free-admission policy of the Smithsonian Institution’s Washington, D.C.,-based properties.
“It is very important for our museum to participate in Museum Day and help promote and celebrate culture on a national level. We are looking forward to this wonderful opportunity to join other museums in Museum Day 2008,” says Eva Kirsch, Robert V. Fullerton Art Museum director.
On Sept. 25, the RVF Art Museum opens three exhibits of photography: “DIVAS! An Exhibition of Immodest Photography,” “Andy Warhol: Photographic Legacy” and “Beth A. Steffel: Medium Rare.” An opening reception for these shows will be held on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 3-5 p.m.
Last year, upward of 100,000 people attended Museum Day. All 50 states plus Puerto Rico were represented by 651 participating museums. |
