ANCIENT EGYPTIAN COLLECTION
The Egyptian collection consists of about 900
objects representing different periods of Egyptian history, from
Pre-dynastic to Coptic. It includes 500 ceramic molds used to make
amuletic jewelry. The larger part of the collection is on extended
loan from the Harer Family Trust. About 200 objects are on permanent
display year-round.

ANCIENT ITALIAN COLLECTION
The Ancient Italian collection consists of
26 ceramic vases from various regions of the Italian Peninsula such
as Etruria, Apulia and Daunia. The most interesting object in this
collection is a large Apulian volute crater; the best-represented
region is Daunia with several animal-shaped or decorated with zoomorphic
motifs vessels.

ASIAN COLLECTION
A gift by the university's former president,
Dr. Anthony Evans, the collection consists of over 200 ceramic objects
from various regions of Asia, particularly from South East Asia
and China. The jewel of the collection is a comprehensive representation
of old Korean gray ware from the First Millennium A.D.

CONTEMPORARY COLLECTION
The contemporary collection includes such recognized
names as Andy Warhol,
Robert Rauschenberg, David Hockney or even
John Lennon but its good representation of the local, Southern California
art scene is also worth mentioning. The collection consists of over
100 objects, mostly paintings and works on paper.

AFRICAN COLLECTION
The Jane Matthews Collection of sub-Saharan
African Art consists of over 100 objects and makes an excellent
study tool for many classes. Various mediums and materials are represented
in this collection of objects made for mostly tribal ritualistic
purposes.
