ABOUT US

The Robert V. Fullerton Art Museum at California State University, San Bernardino opened its doors to the public in 1996. Since then, the museum has grown to one of the major cultural centers in the community and surrounding Inland Empire region. Home to what is considered the largest collection of Ancient Egyptian Art west of the Mississippi River, the Fullerton Art museum has accumulated a collection of close to 1,200 objects focusing on ceramics, ancient and contemporary art; the largest of which includes some 500 pieces encompassing over 4,000 years of Egyptian history.

About 7,500 square feet of gallery space allows not only a continuous display of a substantial part of the museum's permanent holdings, but also a dynamic schedule of visiting exhibitions.

Host to over 150 emerging artists and 50,000 visitors, including 10,000 school children, the Fullerton Art Museum is committed to its mission in providing education, inspiration and life enrichment to the community. The Museum’s audience consists of university students, faculty and staff, groups of school children (K-12) and members of the local community as well as visitors to the region.

To CSUSB students, especially, the Museum offers a variety of opportunities providing valuable hands-on work experience and preparation for future museum related careers.

When you visit the Robert V. Fullerton Art Museum, you find it’s more than a museum, it’s an unforgettable experience. Guests of the museum can explore for themselves the cultural richness hidden within the tales of Ancient Egypt spreading beyond the barriers of time and into modern day. All the excitement lies right here within our own community. Come and see, learn and be inspired at the Robert V. Fullerton Art Museum!

MISSION

The Robert V. Fullerton Art Museum develops, preserves, researches and exhibits its permanent collections, which represent various periods and regions and focus on ceramics, ancient and contemporary art. As part of an academic institution, the Museum presents and interprets fine arts, decorative arts and design, providing knowledge, ideas and a resource for life enrichment to university students, faculty and staff, as well as to the region's communities and visitors. Through a variety of exhibitions supported by educational programs, such as lectures, seminars, traditional and electronic publications, and numerous innovative outreach activities, it provides a valuable study site to educate, inspire, and maintain public interest in art and design.
